At Greater Metro West Association of Realtors®, we are compromised of the following committees. Each committee is dedicated to hearing your input and accepting your leadership qualities to grow and improve our association. Read each committee description below to find the perfect fit.

Awards Selection Committee

This committee is responsible for the selection of the annual REALTOR® awards recipients.

Budget/Finance Committee

This committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the budget process, financial planning & review and investment management of the Association.  It is comprised of five elected members serving on the Board of Directors.  The current Treasurer serves as the Chairperson.

Bylaws Committee

This committee considers changes/updates to the Association's bylaws whether necessary locally or mandated by the National Association of REALTORS®.  Any recommendations are presented to the Board of Directors, and if approved are submitted to NAR for review.  Its membership serves staggered two-year terms.

Communication & Technology Committee

This committee was formed to advance the online presence of the Association and ensure the data presented is relevant and engaging to REALTOR® and Affiliate members.  Its members review real estate technology enhancements as possible member benefits.

Why Join: To advance the online presence of the association and ensure the data presented is relevant and engaging to REALTOR® and Affiliate members. Review technology services which could add value to membership.

Community Service Committee

This committee is designed to upgrade the quality of life in the community by encouraging the entire membership to participate in various projects.  This is accomplished by investing with human resources or fundraising for the benefit of charitable and community organizations.

Why Join: Encourages membership to participate in various projects designed to upgrade the quality of life in the community, raises funds for the benefit of charitable/community organizations.

Education Committee

This committee is responsible for providing top quality continuing education offerings to the members, through programs in co-sponsorship with the state association and other local boards as well as the promotion of designation programs available from TAR and NAR and its institutes, societies and councils.  It conducts our new member orientations.

Chair: Latisha Grant and Co-Chair: Roxie Davidson

Why Join: Provide top quality continuing education programs and promote designation programs available from Texas REALTORS® and NAR. Participate in new member orientation programs.

Event Planning Committee

The Event Planning Committee works in conjunction with the Association staff to book the location and program speaker for membership meetings.  Its members plans fundraising events throughout the year to benefit the Annual Awards & Installation Banquet, which it also executes.

Chair: Cassie Mueller and Co-Chair: Judy Jordan Giles

Why Join: Planning of membership meetings, events and programs, including annual Installation Banquet – including location, menus, speakers, pricing, etc. Promote attendance at all events and hosts activities. Provides raffle items for member luncheons.

Governmental Affairs

This committee follows any legislative action and public policies affecting the real estate industry and private property rights.  Its members are committed to involvement in the political process, and encourages the same of the membership.  This can include attending local government sessions, conducting candidate interviews, and supporting TREPAC.

Chair: Justin Fairless and Co-Chair: Lisa Elkins

Why Join: Encourages membership to become involved in the political process. Be aware of and responsive to local, state and national regulatory issues affecting private property rights and real estate. Support TREPAC fundraising efforts.

Member Services Committee

This committee reviews all member applications for proper classification and recommends prospective members to the Board of Directors for approval. They inform members of and promote attendance at Association functions.

NTREIS

GMWAR is a shareholder association of the North Texas Real Estate Information Systems, Inc. (NTREIS), the provider of the Association's MLS service. GMWAR has a Director on the NTREIS Board of Directors along with a member of User Committee, each of whom serve a two-year term.

This committee is responsible for preparing the slate of officers for the annual election of Officers and Directors.

Strategic Planning Committee

The Strategic Planning Committee is responsible for the direction of the organization. The Strategic Planning committee is the hub of the organization, impacting marketing, staff performance, the budget and committee efforts. A strategic plan is both a framework and a philosophy.

TREPAC Committee

This committee raises and solicits funds from members to support state and national legislation favorable to homeownership, property owners, and the real estate profession. They present information to inform and educate the membership on TREPAC and work closely with Governmental Affairs.

Chair: Kelli Stumbo and Co-Chair: Sparkles Belt

Why Join: Inform and educate membership on the value of TREPAC. Solicit funds to support local, state and national legislation and/or candidates favorable to homeownership and private property rights.
